Engrade is an on-line grade book that looks like the old beloved but obsolete Grade Machine, however, Engrade has many more time-saving teacher tools Grade Machine never had. Like Grade Machine, the teacher sets up categories and is able to weight them. Engrade has a “Citizenship” feature with a teacher comment section. Progress reports may be printed, sent home, or viewed on-line.
Engrade may only be used by one teacher or an entire school. The school feature allows parents and students to view grades in one spot. One other features used by Engrade is the ability for a teacher to create quizzes. Students take the quizzes on-line in class and the student’s grade is automatically entered into the grade book.
The Wiki feature allows a teacher to place lessons and assignments with downloadable documents on an open web-like page with tabs to other pages.
Students and parents have a separate log-in to check individual grades, read teacher comments, check assignments or the on-line homework calendar.
There are many more features; yet the program appears simple to use and back up – just in case.
Oh yes, Engrade is free. This company has been around for a while with over 2 million users. Check it out.
